| Kevin Trowbridge, Owner, Licensed Massage Therapist
A Sioux City native, Kevin is the owner of Massage & Body. He is graduate of the University of South Dakota with a degree in Psychology and has done graduate work in Exercise Science . In addition, he was a student Athletic Trainer for USD Athletics and performed rehab for high school athletes and at a chiropractic center for four years. He also taught for three years at the Siouxland College of Massage Therapy in S. Sioux City, NE. Kevin graduated from the Omaha School of Massage Therapy in 2001. In 2002, Kevin was part of the NCTMB Massage Exam Committee that rewrote the national exam that students take. Kevin is also certified in massage cupping.
| Cassie Thompson, Licensed Massage Therapist, NCTMB
Cassie graduated from The Siouxland College of Massage Therapy in 2007 and set up practice shortly thereafter in Le Mars, Iowa. She began helping out at Massage & Body soon after it opened and gradually moved to make it her primary place of practice, since it was closer to home. Cassie loves a good challenge and employing detective work to figure out just the right way to address specific issues and how best to tailor a massage to each person and personality. She is well versed in Swedish, deep tissue, Neuromuscular (trigger point), Myofascial, Craniosacral, Sports, and prenatal massage and Reflexology. She is working on specializiation in Precision Neuromuscular Therapy, a deductive science and client based technique to quickly assess and get to the root of an issue. She values providing a unique experience for each client and is currently in the process of developing personalized Aromatherapy protocols and integrating guided meditation into a session, per request. Also, if you have any specific artists or types of music you enjoy relaxing to, don’t be afraid to ask upon arrival! She can probably find it and is open to listening to all kinds of music! In her spare time she loves traveling, watching and photographing live music, and indulging in video games.
| Deb Deboer, Licensed Massage Therapist
A 2007 graduate of The Siouxland College of Massage Therapy, Deb DeBoer is committed to massage as an integral part of your overall health care. Relax and unwind tired, aching muscles while promoting metabolic processes with the slow, smooth flow of a Swedish massage. Add deeper relaxation with the warmth of Hot Stone massage therapy. To address specific muscle issues & reduce/relieve chronic pain while promoting retraining of neurological pain patterns, Deb offers Neuromuscular Therapy. Also available is Craniosacral therapy to balance the rhythmic flow of your life-giving cerebrospinal fluid for deep overall relaxation and connectedness.
| Blake Ahrendsen, Licensed Massage Therapist
Blake graduated from The Omaha School of Massage Therapy in 2008. He has extra training in deep tissue, trigger point, and sports massage for those with areas that need specific attention, but he also enjoys giving a relaxing Swedish massage. Blake provides a comfortable atmosphere and gives his clients 100% of his effort and attention. In his free time, Blake enjoys spending time with his wife and son.
| Signe Millard, Licensed Massage Therapist
Signe graduated from Gateway College of Massage Therapy in South Sioux City, NE in 1999. She worked in her own practice in Sioux City until she joined Massage and Body in 2014. Signe has also taught Anatomy and Physiology, Pathology, and Hydrotherapy at three local colleges of massage therapy. Signe has a BS in Nursing from Kent State University in Ohio and worked as an RN for 20 years before attending massage therapy school. She now enjoys the one on one time with her clients and working in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Through continuing education, Signe maintains her state licensure and national certification. She has taken courses in several different types of massage including Russian Medical Massage, Repetitive Use Injury Therapy, and John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Therapy. Each client’s treatment plan is based on his or her own goals and needs. Teaching the client correct breathing, body awareness, and appropriate stretches and relaxation techniques all help the client to be an active participant in therapy and healing.
| Emily Pitts, Licensed Massage Therapist
Emily Pitts graduated from The Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in 2004 and she is a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. Emily also attained a B.A. in Physical Education from Morningside College. Emily has a sensitive and intuitive touch. Her techniques include a mix of Relaxation and Sports Massage, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release and Neuromuscular Integration. Emily modifies each massage to the individual clients needs with a healing approach. When she’s not doing massage Emily enjoys sports, traveling, listening to live music, going camping in the summer, and hanging out with friends.
| Joann Klaus, Licensed Massage Therapist
Joanne is a ’98 graduate of Bio Chi Institute in Sioux City who joined massage and body in December 2014. She is licensed to practice in South Dakota and Iowa, has 20 years various clinical experience both in massage and occupational therapy. She integrates Swedish, Deep Tissue, Reflexology, Myofascial, Hot stone and Gem chakra massage techniques, and is working toward certification in Neuromuscular Massage.
She consults each client and assesses needs individually, then invite their input in planning massage sessions. MRT stretching, used to address repented to motions strain, can be combined to regain/maintain optimal mobility and performance. She strives to help clients feel more relaxed and centered, with increased integrity and energy flow to the entire body. Aromatherapy can be used in sessions as well as in spa treatments, upon request.
|Shawn Blomberg, Licensed Massage Therapist
Shawn Blomberg graduated from Cortiva Institute for Massage Therapy in
Seattle, WA in 2009. He is proficient in Swedish relaxation, deep tissue, trigger point and sports massage. Shawn has kept a small private practice since graduating and is excited to expand his skill set to the Siouxland area upon returning home from Seattle. He works intuitively using a wide range of techniques and objective analysis to provide a client centered experience with effective results.
